RESPECTFUL
“NO TOUCH” POLICY
Lowell Scott has a “No Touch” policy. This is includes touch other people or their personal items with your hands, feet, or personal items. HALLWAY EXPECTATIONS There is absolutely NO talking or touching in the hall when classes are in session. Students should stay in line with their class at all times. Please remember to walk on the right side of the hallway. There is NO PUSHING, RUNNING, OR SHOVING at any time! LINING UP Students must line up single file against the wall outside their classroom before class begins. When traveling with a class within the building, students are expected to stay in line (quietly) and follow the “No Touch” policy. ENTERING THE CLASSROOM Students may not enter any classroom without a teacher present. When invited, they will enter the classroom quickly and quietly. Students must be in your seat and ready to learn when the bells rings. |
ASSEMBLIES
When entering and leaving assemblies, please follow teacher instructions before moving and remember to use the stairs. DO NOT walk on the seat. There is NO STOMPING allowed on the bleachers at any time. KINDNESS Students are expected to be kind and show respect to one another and their teachers at all times. Name-calling, arguing, and teasing are not allowed. USING SUPPLIES Students must check with their teacher before using classroom supplies. When using supplies, please do not be wasteful. The supplies need to last for the year and serve all classes. Students are expected to return borrowed supplies and leave work areas neat and organized. |
RESPONSIBLE
ID CARDS & AGENDAS
Students are expected to have their agenda and ID card with them in every period of the school day as it is their pass to leave the classroom for any reason. The ID card is also required for library checkout. BACKPACKS, CELL PHONES (& OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES) There are NO BACKPACKS OR CELL PHONES OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES allowed in the class or in the hallways during the school day. This includes small drawstring backpacks and MP3 players. These items must remain in the lockers (and cell phones turned OFF) until the end of the day. LEAVING THE CLASSROOM Students may only leave the classroom with teacher permission and a signed hall pass. Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom to get items from their lockers. Before school, breaks, and lunch are ideal times to use take care of personal restroom needs. Emergencies will be handled on an individual basis. If you need to use the restroom in between classes, please check in with your teacher before going. FIRE DRILL Follow all teacher instructions as you quickly exit the building. There is absolutely NO TALKING during a drill. |
TARDIES
When a student comes into class late, it is disruptive to the entire class. Tardies will be marked by the teacher and will accumulate for all class periods. They are not removed from a student’s record for one full semester. PENCILS All pencils should be sharpened BEFORE the bell rings, if possible, and NEVER while a teacher is giving instruction. It is always advisable to bring back-up pencils or extra lead. LOCKERS Each student is issued a locker for the year. Do not vandalize your lockers by putting stickers on or in your locker or write on it, even in pencil. Books and binders must be kept in lockers or on your person between classes, and at break and lunch. Books and binders should NOT be left in the hallway between classes. DO NOT share your combination with other students. Your best friend now may not be your best friend later and it will cost $3 to get a combination change. |
READY
AGENDAS
Agendas will be filled out weekly. While waiting for class to begin each period, students should double check the white board agenda for any changes. If there are changes, students should immediately note those changes in their agenda. HEADING PAPERS Name (first and last), Teacher’s name, Class Title and period, and the date in European format must be placed in the upper left corner of the paper. “No Name” papers will be kept until end of the quarter. Each student is responsible for checking the No Name file for any missing work. TURNING IN ASSIGNMENTS All assignments are due at the beginning of class unless otherwise instructed. Assignments will be passed in and collected by the teacher. If the work is not ready at that time, it will be considered late. CLASSROOM CORRECTION FORM If an assignment is not ready to turn in upon collection time, students must fill out a classroom correction form (CCF) to turn in at that time. |
LATE/ABSENT WORK FORM
If an assignment is turned in after the due date, students must attach a completed late work form and turn in the assignment to the late work bin. LATE WORK POLICY In order to help students to learn timeliness and responsibility, late assignments may be docked 10% per day. After 3 days an assignment may only receive 70% of the earned score. During the second semester, the policy will change and no late assignment will be eligible for more than 70% credit. Please make every effort to get all work turned in ON TIME. ABSENT WORK POLICY District Policy allows two days for every one day of excused absence to make up missed assignments. Students are expected to complete work as soon as possible. In the event that a students is present for an assignment or project, but is absent the day it is due, the assignments is due the day they return. |
